Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent

When wealthy Lydia and Andrew Fitzsimons murder prostitute Annie Doyle and bury her in their expansive garden, they proceed with their lives like nothing has happened. However, their teenage son, Laurence, suspects that his father might have been involved in a criminal act, because the police come to the house to interview him. Annie's younger sister, Karen, is not willing to forget about her, even though the police have pretty much closed the case on her disappearance. Over time, we see the lives of all the characters intersect and, as the reader, we wait with baited breath, knowing that all is not going to end well. A great read-alike for those missing the late Ruth Rendell's psychological novels.
