The Angry Women's Choir by Meg Bignell
The West Moonah Women's Choir has been together for 35 years. When Freycinet, a mom of three, encounters a few of the members and is welcomed into the group, she finds the support that she sorely needs. Bizzy Nancarrow, the leader of the choir, is a force of nature, having grown up with a single mother who gave her strong views on social justice and protest. Other members of the group include Kyrie Kalbfel, Rosanna (Kyrie's Italian daughter-in-law), Irene, Mary, Eleanor, Quin, Sally, and Avni. Set in Hobart, Tasmania, this book will appeal to those who enjoy novels about female friendships.
