A Killing of Innocents by Deborah Crombie
When Sasha Johnson is stabbed in Russell Square, the police send Detective Superintendent Duncan Kincaid and his partner, Doug Cullen to the murder scene. It appears to be a quick, deliberate attack on Sasha which means Duncan and Doug will look into Sasha's life to see if there's anyone who seemed to want to harm her. Duncan also decides to bring his wife, Gemma James and her partner, Melody Talbot, in to help. They are also members of the London Metropolitan Police, but have been part of a task force that has been looking into the rise of knife-related crimes in the area. In A Killing of Innocents, the reader follows the quartet, in addition to Detective Inspector Jasmine Sidana, in both their professional and private lives. A welcome return to this long-running series by Deborah Crombie.
